BLS for Healthcare Provider Course on 18 December 2017 - Closed for registration

This American Heart Association course is designed to provide the participants with the necessary knowledge and skills in order to deliver a high quality Basic Life support to victims in need. This Course is designed for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in and out- patient settings. The participants includes nurses, physicians, EMS professionals, and students in a healthcare program at a university/college, physical therapists, occupational therapist, behavioural therapist, speech therapist. By the end of this course, participants will be able to: Learn to recognize several life-threatening emergencies Provide CPR to victims of all ages Use an AED effectively Relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner Participants must register and collect the BLS Student Manual at least 2 weeks before the course. Course Fee - AED 400, Discounted Fee for Dubai Healthcare City Employees - AED 350. Management of Depression course on 3 January 2018

Major depressive disorder is one of the most prevalent causes of disability in the world. It is typified by recurring periods of sadness, loss of interest, poor concentration and feelings of worthlessness.. According to WHO (World Health Organization), depression is currently fourth among the top 10 leading causes of the global burden of disease; it is predicted that by the year 2020, depression will be ranked second. Aim: To gain a detailed understanding of management of depression Objectives: At the end of the course, the participants will be able to: • Demonstrate mental status examination • Identify the clinical features of depression • Recognize treatment modalities for depression • Demonstrate focused history taking from a depressed patient Target Audience: • General Practitioners, Nurses, Behavioural Therapists • Students – Medical, Nursing, Behavioural Science It is assumed that all participants will have basic knowledge of the nature of mental health. It is also assumed that participants will have a basic proficiency at conducting face-to-face interviews with consumers of mental health services. CPQ Accreditation- 3.5 Hrs. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Course [ACLS] on 8 &9 January 2018

American Heart Association ACLS is an advanced, Instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented. Participants must register and collect the ACLS Student Manual at least 4 weeks before the course. Course Fee - AED 1500, Discounted Fee for Dubai Healthcare City Employees - AED 1200.
